Our story began somewhere in the early 2000s. Joe worked as a night shift security guard in the winter for the group home facility Jackie worked at. They would laugh and joke around when they would see each other. They started talking about anything and everything and found out they had some things in common.
In 2007, Jackie was leaving her job for another one. She had a crush on Joe and decided that since they would no longer be working together, now was the time to ask him out! She gathered up the courage and did it!
It was St. Patrick's Day. They went out to dinner and then to a local bar. This was an interesting location, because Joe didn't drink. A surprise turn of events would occur, and Joe's sister was there! Unfortunately, Jackie and Joe were at different points in their lives and the relationship did not blossom any further.
Throughout the years, Jackie and Joe thought about each other. Jackie went back to her previous job and caught back up with Joe. They became great friends. Then, once again, in 2016, Jackie left her job to forge a new path. They lost touch for about a year.
In 2017, Jackie was working at Barnes & Noble, and Joe walked in! They got to talking, found out they were both single (and ready to mingle) and set up a date.
On 06/09/2017, they had their first date at the movies. They haven't been apart since. They moved in together less than a year later.
They have been through a lot together. Jackie finally graduated with her bachelor's degree, they lost some really important family, friends, and pets. But they have been stronger than ever together.
On Christmas Eve in 2022, Joe asked Jackie to marry him. She said YES!!!! Ever the procrastinators, Joe and Jackie FINALLY got around to start planning their wedding. This wedding would not be possible without all of the planning and help from Amanda, Brooke, Jillian, Kathy, and Myria.
We love all of you, and cannot wait to celebrate our love with you on October 6, 2024!
